PrebioThrive Review-Do You Need it?

Published

You may know of probiotics, but do know what prebiotics are? Gundry MD has a product for your prebiotic needs, and I will tell you all about it in this PrebioThrive review.

If you’ve suffered from significant gastrointestinal trouble, then you may know a thing or two about the bacteria in your gut and the roles they play. The first time I learned about good bacteria was in the doctor’s office discussing what could have been ailing me for months. That prompted me to do some further research and find out what more I could do to ensure better health.

Your gut needs bacteria to improve the flora and in turn benefit your digestion and immune system. While probiotics are the good guys, other bad bacteria cause trouble in your tummy, which is why some people opt to take more probiotics. The best way to find out the best probiotics for you is by talking to a medical expert; don’t just go out there and buy the first probiotic you get!

On the other hand, there is prebiotics. Think of prebiotics as the precursors to probiotics. They provide non-digestible fiber that nourishes probiotics. Once they get to the colon, they ferment and break down into short-chain fatty acids that promote probiotic health.

Since I’d had my fair share of probiotics in the past, I decided to test out prebiotics and see how much of an advantage they could be for my gut. I can say I know my way around dietary supplements, and that is how I know about Dr. Gundry and his natural products. Considering his medical experience and overall reception with his supplements, I decided (with my doctor’s go ahead) to try out PrebioThrive.

PrebioThrive Review

From the official website, Gundry MD lists multiple benefits that come with taking PrebioThrive. Before buying any health-related product, it’s always vital to check out the research done on it – you may find a thing or two to change your mind about buying the product in the first place!

I looked around for more information, and so far I couldn’t find extensive scientific research on PrebioThrive. Still, you can find the citations that explain why each ingredient in PrebioThrive can be beneficial for you. I think that more studies need to be done to confirm the proprietary blend and the right dosage.

PrebioThrive

PrebioThrive is a powder supplement that contains five prebiotic ingredients that are rich in fiber:

  • Acacia gum can increase lactobacilli and bifidobacteria in your gut
  • Agave inulin is a great source of dietary fiber and good prebiotic
  • Galacto-oligosaccharides of high purity can enhance bifidobacterium and lactobacillus growth
  • Flaxseed can support other prebiotics
  • Guar gum may reduce Irritable Bowel Symptoms like bloating

Gundry MD claims that PrebioThrive can help balance gut flora, improve digestion, reduce gastrointestinal discomfort, boost immunity, and enhance energy.

My Results

From the instructions, you need one level scoop in water, and in the morning before breakfast – some people use more. First thing I noticed after a week of using the powder was the way my sugar cravings went down. While there weren’t exceptional changes, I believe the mixture improved my bowel movement. I was pretty gassy for a couple of days, but it went down eventually.

Pros

  • Free from sugar, soy, and artificial sweeteners
  • Natural list of prebiotics
  • Available in different sizes

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Guar gum may be unnecessary

Conclusion

Since this is an honest PrebioThrive review, I’ll admit I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t see the doses of each ingredient used. While the product does work for some, I think you can get a better solution, and at a lower cost!
